Allan Apple and his Garden Friends-This gumball machine display card advertises face pieces that
can be used just like Mr. Potato Head parts. For 5 cents, you cound buy an assortment of pieces that
you could  mix and match to create funny faces on your own fruits and vegetables, ca. 1950s

Charlie Light Head- This Potato Head type battery operated toy has a head that lights up!
It comes with translucent face pieces that attach to the light up head-Transogram, ca. 1968
 


Roofus Goofus The Suprise Man-The head is made of crepe paper and the features are plaster.
The directions say that the features can be used on apples, potatos or onions. Unwrapping the paper
head revealed a dozen bubblegum type “surprises”-Wallace Brands Co. of Toledo, Ohio, no date
 


Item # 5413-Perky Peanut Giggle Gang character- These small plush pals were very similar to
the Soft Stuff Mr. Potato Head toys. They have various removable and interchangeable face pieces
that can be attached by velcro. The box says they “have a new face every few minutes.” There are
four different characters: Daffy Donut, Perky Peanut, Bashful Banana and
Silly Strawberry-Lakeside Toys, ca. 1985
 


This Clown Around ride on toy has remarkable similarities to the 1970’s Mr. Potato Head ride on toy.
Both are about the same size, both have multiple face pieces to rearrange, and both have storage
bins below the seat- Today’s Kids, ca. 1998
 
 


Eggsters playset-This egg shaped body is about the same size as the current Mr. Potato Head.
The parts in the set can transform the “egg” into a dog, a bear, or a lion. When not in use, the parts
store inside the body-Tupperware, ca. 1967
 


Mr. Potato Baking Soda Holder-This 4 inch plastic potato man has a removable hat for filling
with baking soda. Holes in back allow you to shake out baking soda. Not really a funny face toy, but close enough
to Mr. Potato Head to be included, ca 1980's



Colorforms Silly faces game-This game is similiar to earlier Mr. Potato Head games. Players compete to be first to
complete their face, ca. 1980s
 


Item # 34719-Mr. Pumpkin Head-Amscan Inc Canada-This toy has 4 face pieces with sharp points on the back
just like early Mr. Potato Head toys. They are used to stick in pumpkin and creat a funny
Halloween face., ca 1970s


Pumpkin Headparts, much like Potato Head parts, for making funny faces out of pumpkins-Gemmy Ind., ca. 2005 


Mr. Men Potatohead. This toy is sort of a cross between Mr. Potato Head and a Potato Head Kid.
